Professora Morena (Gilda Pereira)
Gilda Pereira, was the first student of Mestre Velho José when he started teaching, was just later that her brother joined the training sessions. She received her nickname in capoeira as 'Morena' - brown skin, because everytime she's goes on a sunny holiday she's the first one to get really tanned. Morena started around 2006, although the most regular training sessions were happening from 2008 in London. She also had the opportunity to go to Brazil several times and train under the guidance of Mestre Deputado, and one of the ocasions she competed at the International Championship of Capoeira organised by Federação Goiana de Capoeira. She ended up the competition in 3rd place. Professora Morena doesn't run any classes by herself, but she's a massive support to all in the group.
Professor Taboca (Vitor Pereira)
Vitor Pereira, joined the training with his sister Gilda, and soon became her training partner. He's an important part of the very beginning of our School. His nickname in capoeira was given by Mestre Leonardo on the first oficial graduation of the school in London. If you want to know why he started to be called 'Taboca' you more than welcome to ask! Taboca also went to Brazil and trained with Mestre Deputado in 2014 at the Agosto Pra Regional event that happen in Goiânia-Goiás, every year. He also took part at the same International Championship together with Morena. He reached 5th place by points with others competitors. Professor Taboca doesn't run any classes by himself, but he's also a great support to all in the group.
Professora Boca Rica (Raquel Pereira)
Raquel Pereira, was the last of the Pereira's family to join the group. The youngest sister started training in 2010 soon after moving in to live in London. Her nickname in capoeira is because she's always with this big smile in her face and positive energy, so 'Boca Rica'. She's a professional Personal Trainer, and run her own capoeira class for kids every Wednesdays and she's also the usual replacement for Mestre's when he needs to travel. Professora Boca Rica is studied Physical Theatre and alongside Personal Training and Capoeira, she continues to perform in UK.
Professor Seguidor (Danny Kearns)
Danny Kearns, started capoeira with Contra-mestre PQD from Ginga de Quilombo when at the same time he was studing Physical Theatre, he than carried on training in London, receiving the nickname of Seguidor. In 2012 he started to train sporadically with Olorum Capoeira until 2018 when he returned from Poland to live in London and train with us nearly everyday of the week. Professor Seguidor started to run his own classes of capoeira following the philosophy our School and alongside capoeira he continues to perform and lead workshops in theatre and dance.
